Week 34: 52 week sketch challenge

Hello crafters!

Sorry for the delay in this week's post. I'm still trying to catch up from my job change.. switching jobs and from steady nights to steady days is quite the challenge for me right now. No energy lately but I have been creating a few things that I cannot wait to show you.  For now, I have this week's layout.

Sketch 34:

Here is my layout.

This week's layout was made for my friend's wedding scrapbook album.
This layout features the sock dance. A French-Canadian tradition. If you get married before your older siblings, your older siblings then participate in a sock dance. They play a song and they dance in funny dressed up socks. Others then throw money at them and that money is then given to the bride and groom for wedding expenses. Although I'm sure some have gotten away with keeping the money for the embarrassment.  :P

I used DCWV's Rockstar paper collection for the background as well as the trips of paper for added color and design. I then added a green button with some twine in it. I used my Dymo Label Maker for the journaling. I also used American Crafts Thickers (Delight) in green. It's a fabric alpha.

I hope you give this a try and thanks for stopping by.

week 33: 52 week sketch challenge

Welcome back to another week of my 52 week sketch challenge.
Anyone following this? please post a comment.
I'd love to know if you're just looking every week or even trying them out. :)

Sketch for this week:

Here is my layout.

For this week I chose to do a layout of my nephew.. he is now 10 going on 11 in December so this picture was taken quite a few years ago.
I recently purchased Echo Park's Playground Collection and fell in love with it.
Therefore that is the paper  I used this week.

As you may have noticed, the journaling spot is NOT from Echo Park. This is actually from Little Yellow  Bicycle's Generation Journal Tablet.
I also used some black crinkled seam binding for below the picture.
I also distressed the papers with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.

Home you enjoyed and see you next week.

Take care cuz I care

Sarah

Week 32: 52 week sketch challenge

Double post today. Sorry for the delay in posting this week's layout but the wait is over.

We got a really cute fun and easy layout this week. Didn't take me long to make at all once I had my pictures. Even choosing the photos didn't take long.

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge.

Here is a layout for my niece's album.
It features photos of when she went on a roadtrip. I love the way this turned out.
I used K& Company's Wild Safron paper pack to start. I used a scallop border for the brown polka dot paper at the bottom. I used some matterial flowers from prima and added some metal flowers in the center that I got at my dollar store. I also used some puffy yellow alpha's from American Crafts Thickers (bumble). I also used my Dymo label maker for the journaling.
Hope you like it and give it a try.

Week 31: 52 week sketch challenge

Sorry for the delay in this post. I was out of town for a week. But I'm back and here is my layout for this week.

So for this week I chose to use Echo Park's Summer Time Collection. I just love the colors.
I couldn't find a scallop circle die cut paper so  I went with this one from the collection. I cut out a circle with Martha Stuart's Circle Cutter and distressed the edges. I used some sheer ribbon that I had from a gift basket and tied it around the photo. I then used my Dymo Label maker for journaling and I also inked the edges of those.  I used American Crafts Thickers for the title. (Venus - pink with white stripes). I also used some prima flowers to accent the circle with the photo.

Week 30 : 52 week sketch challenge

Welcome to another week of this challenge.
I was dreading making this layout but once I found my photos and had them cropped. They fit perfectly and I knew just what paper to use. I had to use Echo Park's Summertime and Playground collections. They go perfectly together for summertime projects.

Using some kraft paper as a base, I then decided to accent the layout with the designer paper. Something I haven't done quite like this before and I'm thrilled on how it turned out.

Week 29: 52 week sketch challenge

I'm falling behind a day this summer. Kind of ok kind of not. lol Ok because I'm spending the weekends at camp and not ok because I didn't know what to do and kind of did this weeks pretty fast.
Hope you give it a try and if you do please leave a comment of where I can see it :)

I decided to use some Cosmo Cricket paper. I want to use it up to clear out since it's not my favorite. Girl Friday & everafter paperstack that is.

I also used the purple polkadot paper from Echo Park's summer time collection. I also used some pink paper from a birthday paper I got at walmart. I believe it's from ATD or something like that.

I used some rub ons from a dollar store to spell out "So Cute"

Buttons are from Basic Grey and a handmade flower using lace and a cabochon flower.

Halloween In Wonderland Mini Album!

 HI!
I finally have another mini album to share with you.  I'm so excited! I know it's the middle of summer and nowhere near Halloween but I just had to get my hands busy with this paper collection by Graphic 45.

As soon I saw saw Regan's December Daily mini album on YouTube (Emora Designs) I knew I wanted to take her recycled concept and make a mini almost like it. With this paper, and getting my hands on binding wires I knew I had to make my idea come to life. Another reason I wanted to do this now and not in October is because I had this door knob from 7 Gypsies I purchased just for this album!.

For this album I gathered old cardboard pieces from the recycling bin and from scrapbooking packaging. I also included pages from chipboard albums you find in the 1.50$ section in Michaels.

If you are here for a list of supplies, please scroll down to the end of this post.
If you are here for pictures... you're in luck. This is the heaviest photo post I have yet.
If you are here for an explanation of what I did. Please scroll down and click on the link to my youtube videos  featuring this album.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy!
