Two peas 4x6 photo love : February

Yet another post today.. hmmm.. well I'm not used to getting Thursdays off. I slept as soon as I got off work and been up all afternoon.  I then decided to scrap a bit. I'm so glad I did.

I decided to do another 4x6 photo love layout.

Here's what I ended up with.

Supplies used:
My Mind's Eye Life Stories paper pack
My minds eye letter K (not sure which collection or anything)
Vintage photo distress ink
Jet black stazon
Inkadinkado Typewriter Upercase
paper trimmer
1/2 in circle punch
scallop border punch (fiskars)

Two peas 4x6 photo love : January

If you haven't heard of www.twopeasinabucket.com go check them out! lol They're a great online scrapbooking store. Not only that, they have a ton of classes, forums, galleries to enjoy as well.

One of their classes this year is called 4x6 photo love. Where you scrap as many pictures as what month it is in the year. For example, January has 1 photo in the layout. February has 2 pictures, June has 6 pictures, December has 12.

I've been following this class all year so far and finally decided to give it a try. I started with January with 1 picture. Thought it would be a nice easy start. It was and I'm so proud of the way it turned out.

Here is my finished layout.

Army Guy

So this morning after work I decided to relax and watch the voice online. During watching that on my laptop I decided to scrapbook a layout as well.  I went in my stash and found some fun pictures of my nephew last summer. I then went and found my paper and decided to use Crate Paper's Toy Box collection.
I decided to challenge myself by layering more paper.. bits and pieces. something I've always wanted to do. I didn't know which direction to go with since I've never done that before. I went on www.twopeasinabucket.com and went in their gallery to see what others have done with this collection. I found a two page layout that was the exact theme of my pictures.. I didn't copy it exactly but it's for sure very similar.  It's not original in any way or my own idea. Although, my challenge to myself was a complete success and I'm very happy with the way it turned out.  I hope you like it.

week 26: 52 week sketch challenge

This layout took me maybe 1 hour tops (probably not even that). That's one of the things I love about these sketches.

Here is the sketch and my layout for this week.

This layout counted on 3 pictures and a flower.. I decided to go look in the pictures of my niece and work with that. I then decided to use K & Company's Wild Saffron paper.

I decided to stop hoarding and use up some Prima Flowers. I also decided to use some dew drops I got from ebay instead of using bling or rinestones. I think it turned out pretty cute!

This journaling spot if from Autum Leaves. I got in in a 10$ box from walmart a few months back.

I used some simple black alphas from walmart. I also inked all the edges of the photos and papers with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I also used Tim Holtz distressing tool around the photos.

I added 3 metal flowers from my dollar store. As you can see the positions of the pictures were flipped sideways to fit the largest picture horizontal instead of vertical like in the sketch. Turned out great.

I hope you all give this a try.
Thanks for stopping by and see you next week.

Father's Day card and wall hanging sign!

This week I'd like to share with you my father's day projects.

I decided to use Graphic 45's A Proper Gentleman  paper stack (8x8)

I created a card and a hanging sign to hang on the wall.

Here is my card...

Here is my wall hanging sign...

As you see, I used 3 Baroque chipboard shapes ( Baroque sizzix die from Tim Holtz)
For the first shape, I decided to use a photo of my siblings and I. I fussy cutted around us to reveal the background paper. I then cut out some images from the 8x8 paper stack and pop dotted them.

For the second shape I left it unembellished since I loved the paper and look it gave.
All I did was ink up the edges in vintage photo distress ink (as I did with the other shapes as well)

For the third and final shape, I fussy cutted a few more images from the paper stack and pop dotted them.
I used Inkadinkado's Typewriter Uper Case stamp set. I punched them out with a 1/2 in. circle punch and inked it up with vintage photo distress ink and pop dotted each letter.

I then handwrote the date of father's day.

Hope you enjoyed this project!
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Week 25: 52 week sketch challenge

Welcome! I'm so very excited to share with you this layout!

I finally broke out my We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy kit and sewed the edges to this fun shaped piece.. seems faint but it's white and looks great in person.

I made the layout of my friend Shannon and her husband Kevin. During their first dance I took a random picture of them which captured their love and happiness. Perfect in the moment picture!

I used swirl bling from my dollar store and a handmade flower from SaCrafters (on youtube)

I also stamped You make me smile! (a stamp from a dollar store). I edged it with prima lace.
I also added a tab with leftover paper from the photo mat.(the reversed side).  (here you see the sew easy edging as well)

Week 24: 52 week sketch challenge

Welcome to another week of my 52 week sketch challenge!

I am happy to share with you this easy fun sketch. Although, sometimes I feel the need to get a layout 'done' just for the challenge, and sometimes not 100% happy with it. I'm still happy to share it with all of you.

I decided to use pictures of my cousin and her band. I find it difficult to scrapbook four or more pictures given my  picture supply to I managed to find some pictures of the band on stage and cropped 2 pictures and made 4.

I used some dollar store pink bling and some velvet flowers from 7 gypsies and added recollections mini copper brads as flower centers.

Week 23 : 52 week sketch challenge

I am so excited to share with you another polar bear habitat layout. I love it!

Here is the sketch for this week.

So this week I used Cosmo Cricket Earth Love & The Boyfriend paper stack. I used the Earth Love papers.
I used my Martha Stuart circle cutter to cut out 3 pieces to add behind the photo. I originally cut a mat for that but I decided not to. The circles measure 3 1/2 in. (the mat would have been 4 in.)  I then made a photo mat 4 1/4 x 6 1/4.

I used some foam letters from the dollar store to spell out the bear's name. Nanook.

Unlike the sketch, the three pieces of paper, I decided to rip the ends off to add interest.

I then used the middle of these torn papers to add my journaling.

" The polar bear habitat in Cochrane, Ontario opened in 2004.
Mom and I took a day trip to go see them on  May 22, 2004.
We took a lot of pictures. There were three bears there at the time.
Nanook (who later died March 23,  2011 - health reasons) and there
were Aurora and Nakita, twin girls.   www.polarbearhabitat.ca"

Hope you enjoyed this week's layout. See you next week.
